I was getting really upset when the HVAC technician was three hours late, and he still hadn’t called to tell me when he would arrive.
I called the HVAC company who told me they hadn’t heard much more than I had, but they would look into the situation.
It was another hour before the HVAC technician arrived. He seemed frazzled, but he promised he would have my air conditioning unit repaired, even if it took him until midnight. Since it was almost nine in the evening, I was going to tell him to leave, but my husband told me not to. We had good lighting in the backyard, and we needed to have the air conditioning unit repaired. He didn’t work in the morning, so he could stay up with the HVAC technician. Unfortunately, I could sleep until the HVAC technician left. The backyard was so well lit, that it caused the bedroom to look like it was the middle of the day. Even closing the curtains didn’t help keep the light out. I put on my robe and went to the kitchen to make some decaf coffee. I wanted coffee, but I didn’t want to be awake the rest of the night. I added ice and creamer, and sat at the kitchen table drinking my coffee. My husband came in about five minutes to midnight, and told me the air conditioning was repaired, then asked for a cup of coffee. He said the HVAC technician would come back the next afternoon, and go over the bill with us. He didn’t want to disturb my sleep, but it was apparent that wouldn’t have happened.
