I came home yesterday and I told my mom I was in love with the HVAC technician.
She gave me a look of horror.
Our HVAC technician was at least as old as mom and he was married. She asked me what HVAC technician I was in love with, and I realized she was picturing the one that always came to our house. I laughed and assured her it wasn’t him. I told her I was at a birthday party a couple of months ago. There was a young man there that she talked to the entire evening. He was an HVAC technician and the brother of the person the party was for. I had gone to the party with my then boyfriend, but he left to take his friend home, and never returned. After twenty minutes, the man offered to take me home if my boyfriend didn’t return. The next day I broke up with my boyfriend, because the friend he took home was another girl. I had been talking to the HVAC technician for a couple weeks, and he finally asked me out. I told mom that I was in love with him, and I was sure he was in love with me. I asked mom how I would know if he loved me. She told me it was through his kindness and letting me know if he was going to be late for dates, and just talking to me. Two days later, I knew my HVAC technician loved me when he asked me to marry him. I knew we hadn’t known each other long, but we were sure of each other, and that was all that counted. Mom asked if that meant she would get free HVAC service?
