Over the last ten years, whenever we need anything done on the HVAC system, we have had the same HVAC technician come to the house.
Last week, we called to have the air conditioning unit serviced before summer.
Instead of the same HVAC technician, there was a younger man. He was very polite and did the job well, but I missed the camaraderie we had built over the years. I was frowning when my wife got home from work, and she asked why I was so glum. I told her about the new HVAC technician and I was worried the old HVAC technician hadn’t been there. She asked me how many times the HVAC technician had been here. I figured it was at least twice a year for the last ten years. He was someone I could count on seeing when I made the phone call. She asked if I had called the HVAC company and inquired about his whereabouts? He was going to call the next morning. When my wife got home from work the next day, I was feeling better. I called the HVAC company, and they said he had moved on to a better position. He was now working with the present owner and learning the ropes. Next year, he will take over as the new owner of the HVAC company. I was happy for him and asked if there was some way I could send him a card and congratulate him. She said they would send out notice in about three months. She said they wanted to send out notice to his regular HVAC customers, but they waited until he took ownership of the HVAC company.
