My wife is always telling me I have a potty mouth and I should watch what I say around my kids.
The only time I curse is when I am working on my air conditioning or furnace.
I am very careful when I am working on other people’s HVAC systems. I always tell my wife it is my father’s fault that I swear at the furnace. Every time he was working on the furnace, he swore. I don’t know if it was because he was hitting his knuckles, pounding his fingers, or he just didn’t enjoy working on the furnace. Whatever the reason for his swearing, the only time I heard it was when he was working on our HVAC equipment. I remember mom admonishing him over his cursing and asked what his customers thought of his mouth. He told her he was a professional HVAC technician. He never showed anger or cursed when he was working on their HVAC equipment. He told her that after working eight, ten, or twelve hours on other people’s HVAC equipment, then coming home to work on ours was just frustrating. Mom would give him a hug and ask to just watch his mouth around the kids. Dad’s humor was off the chart and he told her he would watch his mouth if it was possible, but he wouldn’t be seeing anything else. Mom would slap him, roll her eyes, and walk away, which made him laugh. My wife is like my mom, and she has the same responses when I swear at our furnace and air conditioning unit.
