There’s not a much better time to be had than just getting out on the road for adventure with my wife and kids.
- When we run across a long weekend or some sort of holiday where we can take a few extra days off, we don’t stay inside the central air conditioning at home.
Instead, we pack up the van and get out on the interstate. We are so fortunate that our family just loves to road trip together. It’s for sure the complete opposite of the family trips I took as a kid. My dad was the kind of guy that would never stop unless he was out of gas. That man could just drive and drive and drive. Dad’s whole thing was to make good time and getting to the destination as fast as possible. For me and my family, we enjoy the comfort inside the air conditioning of our van. We actually have a sort of zone controlled HVAC thing going on as there are separate thermostats throughout the van. I stop often even if it’s just to stretch our legs or take a picture. And we don’t need to go all that far just to enjoy ourselves. This way we can get to a hotel and still have the rest of the day to enjoy. When it comes to hotels, we stay at the sort of places you find along the interstate. We save a bunch of money on these hotels which goes toward just more fun and adventure. But we can also always count on the commercial HVAC in these types of hotels. That’s because they have the big wall units that do such a great job when it comes to producing quality heating and air. And I sure don’t mind getting a free breakfast and a paper each morning either.
