When you have teenagers in your house, everyday is a battle.
You never know what is coming or what to brace yourself for.
Unfortunately, there are three teens in this house and it is draining. I’m always looking for ways to remove clutter from our lives and simplify things. One of the things I’d like to do is install a smart temperature control, but it’s not an option right now. I’d like to optimize the central heating and cooling proposal to reduce my utility bills, but I also want to keep my teens safe and under control. Right now, there’s a typical dial temperature control located in the family room. I want to keep this ancient dial temperature control for one major reason, which is to keep an eye on my teens. Currently, when my teens are in the living room with their friends, I can keep an eye on what they’re doing thanks to the temperature control. Adjusting the indoor air temperature down or up is a perfect excuse to walk into the room and make sure they are not causing trouble! I can sneak around the corner and ensure that everyone is behaving. If I installed a smart temperature control, I’d lose this ability to use my thermostat excuse. I’d have to switch the indoor air temperature through my cell phone rather than physically walking into the room. As much as I’d adore a smart thermostat, it’s going to have to wait until my teens are gone.
