When you are a parent, everyday is a battle.
You never know what is coming your way or what to prepare for.
Unfortunately, I have several teenagers in my house and it’s exhausting. We’re always searching for ways to declutter our lives and make things easier. One of the measures that my wife and I respectfully discuss is installing a smart temperature control. However, It’s not possible right now. We’d really like to optimize the central heating and cooling system to cut back on our utility bills and usage of the central heating and cooling units. However, we also need to keep our kids under control. Currently, we have a regular dial temperature control that is situated in our kitchen. The two of us want to keep this ancient dial temperature control for a single major reason. We can keep an eye on our kids when they’re hanging out in the family room. The temperature control gives us an excuse to adjust the indoor air temperature up or down and walk into the room. We can make sure our kids are not getting into any funny business. I can peek around the corner and ensure that everyone is clothed. If my wife and I installed a smart temperature control, we’d lose this air quality control excuse. We’d have to turn the indoor air temperature up or down using our cell phones rather than walking into the kitchen and manually doing it. As much as we’d enjoy optimizing our central heating and cooling system, it’s going to wait until our kids are gone.
