When you have adolescents in your house, everyday is a battle. You never know what’s coming your direction or what to prepare yourself for. There are two adolescents in this house and it is exhausting. I’m constantly searching for ways to declutter our lives and simplify everything. Unluckily, one of the measures that my husband and I always discuss, is installing a smart control unit, but it’s out of our reach. I’d genuinely like to optimize our central heating and cooling equipment to reduce the energy costs. It would also put less wear and tear on the central heating and cooling units. However, I also need to keep the adolescents safe, and right now, I have a proper dial thermostat that’s located in the kitchen. I have to keep this rudimentary dial thermostat, because I can spy on the adolescents. Currently, when the adolescents are hanging out in the living room, I can keep an eye on their business thanks to the control unit. Adjusting the inside air temperature up or down is the perfect excuse to walk into the room and check on them. I can peek around the corner really quickly and ensure that their clothes are still on. If we installed a smart control unit, I’d lose this air quality control excuse. I’d have a way to turn the indoor air temperature up or down using a phone rather than walking into the kitchen. As much as I’d appreciate optimizing the central heating and cooling system, it’s going to have to wait until my adolescents move out.
