Long before the internet, we kids had to play outside. Now, I can barely get our kids out the door when they don’t have school. Times have changed, which is not a bad thing. There are more ways now to stay at home, and enjoy being at home all day. For example, our oldest child decided to renovate the basement. He has one of the coolest gaming spaces. He even earns from his gaming, something I discovered when he sent money to our account. My other kids like the cable or being on their laptops. So, to get them all moving, my friend and I got a pet, and they now take turns walking him, and get some exercise in the process, but last summer, I was busy at home when I noticed the home getting warmer despite the air conditioner running. My son emerged from the basement to let me recognize that the vent down there was blowing warm air. He perhaps thought I had messed with the thermostat just to get him out of that room for a short time. But, there seemed to be a genuine issue with the air conditioner. I make it a point to service our heating and cooling twice a year. That spring, I had a heating and cooling specialist come by to service the air conditioner. The system was OK, he said. He missed something, which would explain why the cooling system was now blowing warm air into our home. My child was forced to stay with me in the study room where I had a portable air conditioner running until the heating and cooling expert came by to take a look.
