Everyone knew about the Taylor HVAC company.
Everyone in the HVAC company was related. My dad was the lead HVAC technician and the owner of the company. I was one of his top HVAC technicians, and I trained all the new employees. When my sister joined the company, she used her married name on her ID tag. She told me she didn’t want to upset dad, but she wasn’t sure she wanted to be the latest and greatest Taylor HVAC technician. I assured her she could never be the latest and greatest, because I already had the distinction of being the greatest, and our younger brother was the latest. She was just the newest to defect to the Taylor HVAC company, and no one needed to know she was related to us. She felt better knowing this, but she still wasn’t convinced. She and my older brother were twins, and if not for the figure and softer features, they looked alike. He looked older than Shannon, but that was the biggest of their differences. When one of our best customers came into the shop, Shannon waited on her. She wanted to purchase a new air conditioning unit. She had all the information we needed to find the right AC unit for her. My sister made sure she got exactly what she wanted, and she even said she would send someone to the house and take some measurements. It wasn’t until the customer asked her which one of the Taylor brothers was her twin that Shannon gave second thoughts to working with us.
