My grandmother was talking about the HVAC technician, who was at her house last week.
She said he was the best HVAC technician she had ever had come to the house, but she couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t a real HVAC technician? My mom asked what she was talking about.
She said that he didn’t have an HVAC company ID badge, and he wasn’t wearing a regular HVAC uniform. She thought they sent him to the house to do the service on her AC unit, since it wasn’t necessary to have HVAC certification to do service calls. Dad assured her that even those who do HVAC service calls were certified HVAC technicians. Grandma didn’t believe him but thanked him for saying this and making her feel better. Dad was really trying to get through to grandma that the young man was a certified HVAC technician, but she patted his hand and talked to mom. When we left Grandma’s house, dad was still upset that he couldn’t convince grandma that all of his HVAC technicians are certified. Mom kissed his cheek and said grandma was his mother, and he knew how she was. She was probably just teasing him because she said it put a sparkle in his eyes. This made him laugh, but it embarrassed him, too. When he went to work on Monday, he rounded up all the HVAC technicians before they went out on jobs. He wanted to make sure they were all certified and had HVAC ID tags. Anyone who had recertified in the last five years, had to go back to certification classes.
