Big changes at work include new HVAC

The massive overhaul where I work has been a long time coming.

I’m hopeful that with this big reorganization, we’ll be able to get back to our previous levels of productivity and quality work.

But it’s going to take some time and effort to get there. Along with a complete change in leadership in our office, we also go much better quality heating and air. Again, something that has needed to be changed for some time. The fact is that our office has lots of square footage that was served by one thermostat. There was no way that this was going to adequately cover the entirety of the office with even and consistent HVAC. It was better than having no HVAC at all but not by much. In the winter, most of us brought in space heaters for our cubicles just to not freeze. And the summer meant fans at our desks and even that didn’t make up for the seemingly overwhelmed air conditioning. As a group, we brought the heating and cooling situation up with our onsite management team only to be ignored. I mean completely ignored when it came to our requests for an HVAC upgrade. Well, that was one of the first things to change when the new management team took over. It didn’t take a week before there were HVAC technicians all over the building overhauling our heating and cooling equipment. Today, the new management team is far more engaged, positive and responsive. It makes doing our jobs so much easier. And the new zone controlled HVAC in the office is just the icing on the cake.
