An hour away from her home, my friend has a shed converted into a little house where she keeps her horses. She stays there on the weekends when she goes up to ride. The shed has a window air conditioner and fake fireplace. She complained that the air conditioner wasn’t keeping the home cool. I didn’t mind taking a look at it because I’m handy at fixing things. I promised to come up, and as soon as I arrived, I discovered the problem wasn’t the air conditioner. If you were within 10 feet, you felt nice blast of cool air, but much further, it was warm. The shed was drafty; it had a tin roof! I don’t think she believed me. She still thinks there’s a problem with the air conditioner. I suggested we seal up the walls to make it more airtight, and that a little bit of insulation would also help.
