I love taking road trips across the country, but I hate staying in hotels. First of all, it’s hard to check reviews when you’re driving across the interstate in the middle of the night. It’s one thing to plan a trip out in advance with accommodations reserved for every leg of the journey. In that situation you can compare reviews to find a good hotel in each city you plan to stop in. But if you’re trying to find a place to sleep for the night and don’t have an hour to waste driving from one hotel to the next, you have to make a decision. Sometimes I’m lucky and I find a clean hotel, but more often than not there are odors in the lobby, the hallways, and in the rooms. I don’t like dropping $100 just to sleep in a disgusting room with bad air conditioning. That’s why I decided to save for a camper to take with me on road trips across the country. This way I had a place to sleep every night in comfort without wasting hundreds of dollars. Lucky for me, I found a cheap camper that was in good shape and just needed a new air conditioner installed on the roof. After getting a new air conditioner installed, this camper is amazing. I had to clean it out and I replaced some of the furniture inside, but with this new air conditioner I can see myself taking this thing on trips across the country every single year. Half of the battle with bad hotel rooms is the air conditioner, it either doesn’t get cold, smells bad, or has a combination of both problems. Not only is my air conditioner in my camper powerful, it’s also brand new so it has zero odors.
