I tried to politely tell them I have insurance and to take me off their calling list.
This just seemed to promote even more phone calls.
I was so tired of saying hello and being greeted by canned voices, that I got to the point I didn’t even answer the phone unless I knew the number. I got a phone call from my local HVAC company the other day. I thought I was listening to a phone call I had from life insurance companies. I looked at the phone number again and asked who this was. He apologized for not properly identifying himself. He told me he was from my HVAC company. He wanted to let me know that the warranty on my HVAC system was about to expire. He wanted to know if I was interested in purchasing an extended warranty. He also told me that it was time to have my air conditioning unit maintained. He said the maintenance was covered under the present warranty. If there was a problem, they would make the repairs free of charge. If something went wrong after the warranty ended, I would need to pay for it. I knew how much my current warranty had saved on repairs. I also renewed my maintenance and repair plan at the same time. HVAC warranties are the best insurance I have purchased. You may want to argue with me on that, but next time you need to have a repair done on your furnace or air conditioner, think about it. The cost of one repair is probably more than what I pay for my maintenance agreement and warranty.
