I guess I’m the type of human being who always expects to be deceived.
I have had a particularly rough life when it comes to social interactions and I can’t pretend that my experiences haven’t left a mark.
In fact, I would say that I am borderline antisocial at this point because I expect so little from everybody. That’s why I was swept off my feet when I met somebody who seemed like everything I ever dreamed of. He was smart, considerate, and incredibly funny. We just got each other from the very beginning. That being said, his Central heating, cooling, and air quality control units do not get me. When I first went to his house I was rather disappointed to find out that he doesn’t have a central HVAC system. Apparently, his central air conditioning unit broke down a few years ago and he decided to replace the large cooling system with several small AC window units. He had an AC unit in almost every room. However, it didn’t seem like any one of the air handling devices actually worked correctly. No matter where I went, there was a different air temperature and air quality to be found. I could barely sleep at night because the air conditioning units were so loud and effective at controlling the air temperature. After a few weeks of trying to look past the terrible indoor air quality and lack of HVAC maintenance, I realized that I just couldn’t do it. He may be the perfect human… But he definitely has less than ideal air quality.
