I think this might have been the best summer vacation ever.
I’m not trying to overthink it here and perhaps it’s just a combination of factors but, this was a great, great vacation.
Just getting out of the zone controlled HVAC of the office for two weeks is a big deal for me. I love what I do for a living and I’m very thankful that it provides such a great living. Still, I need a break and that’s why we take the end of summer trip each year. Since the kids were born, we’ve always gotten out of the central air conditioning of home and set out for the same beach. The first few years, we tried a resort there so we could enroll the kids in different recreation activities and get some time alone. But as the years have gone by, we’ve moved toward the vacation rentals. Having a house really is the way to go. And really, it’s just about the same cost of the resort. But there’s way more room and it’s just so much more comfortable. Plus, we like to grill or cook half the time instead of always heading to a restaurant. Having the kids be older is a plus as well. They can look after themselves pretty well. That’s a big time bonus. But I honestly think that the amazing residential HVAC in this last place was what put the whole thing over the top.
