I had a rather extreme injury to my left shoulder when I was younger. I was only in my twenties, however that injury has already turned into major arthritis, and whenever my left shoulder gets cold, it aches so badly that my fingers get numb. I hate it during the summer. People would know my shoulder arthritis feels better, however it doesn’t. I need to have air conditioning, and whenever I switch on the air conditioning unit , my left shoulder aches. I can’t sleep in bed, because there are air conditioning system air vents on every wall, no matter where I place my bed, air conditioning is blowing on me. I can’t drive my automobile comfortably. The air conditioning makes it so painful. Even working is painful because of how strong their air conditioning is. I have tried pulling blankets up over my left arm at night, however after that I feel like I am suffocating. I have tried wearing heavy jackets, however they don’t have jackets with only one sleeve in them. I feel foolish with a jacket on all the time when I’m working. I sporadically wonder if there is any place in the US where I could live and never need to use the air conditioning. It would be legitimately nice to be able to go through an entire summer season without worrying about such pain. I know that some afternoon it will become debilitating, however until then, people can giggle when I wear my jacket that has one arm split out, and the other covers my left shoulder. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll be a fashion mogul and everyone will wear left-sleeved jackets, and it will come about because of my arthritis and the air conditioning.
