Summer always used to be my favorite time of the year. I loved the long days, warm temperatures, and plenty of sunshine that made me feel good. However, with climate change, now the summers are different. The heat is becoming more intense each year, and can´t be escaped, even inside my home. With the summer getting closer, it is now the time to get my a/c serviced; otherwise, I would not be able to keep up with the sweltering temperatures. I contacted several HVAC contractors but couldn’t find anyone to come out and repair the unit. It looked like everyone had the same idea and was looking to get their air conditioner ready for the summer heat. I wondered about the effects of climate change and how it’s affecting the HVAC industry. As the global temperature increasingly warms, more and more people are installing cooling equipment in their homes. I also asked myself if HVAC providers could do something to combat the effects of climate change on their equipment, and after doing some research, I found out that technological advances are being made and more efficient HVAC equipment is now available on the market. Climate change is a major concern for me, so I opted for a mini-split air conditioner, to save money and reduce energy usage. I also contacted my provider to enroll in a service plan to ensure that my A/C unit would receive regular tune-ups and cleanings. I was lucky that I was offered discounts on maintenance work and parts if required. Now I look forward to the summer months once again, even in the face of climate change.
