Thankfully our up-to-date air conditioner is not nearly as long as the outdated one
I’ve consistently been sensitive to loud noises. And I suppose it started when I was entirely young during a really decisive moment in our life, however my Grandfather was consistently a loud and raucous guy and he made no mistake in showing it to his grandchildren, then he used to light off homemade sticks of dynamite in the backyard just to scare us at a young age. One such time caused me to almost lose our arm because the homemade bomb blew up faster than it was supposed to right as I was about to walk towards it. I found out later on that he had mistaken how long the fuse was supposed to be and inadvertently lit it off faster than he was supposed to. But after that, our mother did not entirely want our siblings and I to be around our Grandfather, but regardless, the damage was already done. It developed a large built-in fear response to loud noises complications ever since. My outdated air conditioner for instance had a entirely loud air compressor. It was fairly outdated at that point and consistently made alone grinding noise when it would turn on. Typically the noise would start to subside as the AC had been running for a few minutes, however it was usually present right after the cycle would begin. Thankfully our up-to-date air conditioner is not nearly as long as the outdated one. I do not have to worry about being freaked out every single time our AC turns on to cool the air in our house. I’m also thankful that the furnace is fairly silent as well. I just do not savor these loud noises especially if they are coming from our heating and cooling system.
