I really think that we were all suffering but were powerless to change it.
I guess we could have all quit our jobs but that is a pretty terrifying option when there is a family counting on you.
But the office and the job had gotten to the point that I didn’t want to even leave the central air conditioning of my house in the morning. It took everything I had to just pull myself together to enter the offices. And nobody should have to work in that sort of environment. And there was just so much wrong at work. From really poor management who created a toxic work environment all the way to the commercial HVAC, it was bad. I guess corporate stepped in just in time or I don’t know what would happen. I was actually witnessing colleagues get into shoving matches over the thermostat setting. Everyone was on edge. So I guess I really appreciate the way the new boss has handled things since she took over. She came in with compassion and a will to change our trajectory. The new boss was ready to face the issues that had turned a one thriving office into a dumpster fire. The biggest thing is that she listens and acts. I mean we got all new commercial HVAC in the office just two weeks into her being here. The heating and cooling in the office was so bad and she made it a priority right away. We’re all grateful that we hung on for this sort of leadership. And having the new zone controlled HVAC in the office is a great start.
