I really just don’t get it. It makes no sense to me why my family is so against going on a 3 or 4 day camping trip. There are so many whiney reasons that it just makes me insane. Look, I’m not suggesting that my family scale some huge mountain or live off the land for a week. Nope, I simply want to go to a nice camping spot where there are showers, toilets and other amenities. It just so happens that we will be sleeping and eating outside, on picnic tables no less! But, you would think I had suggested burning our clothes in the front yard. My lazy family simply doesn’t want to get out of the HVAC controlled comfort of our home. That is the bottom line and the truth. We have become so soft that the very idea of sleeping in a tent to enjoy being in nature is akin to some sort of parental abuse. My wife isn’t helping much either. She even is throwing in the “it might get cold at night” excuse. So, I decided that I would simply call their bluff. This is because I think it has less to do with the HVAC and more to do with not wanting to do without the creature comforts. That led me to find a portable HVAC device to take along on our camping trip. I think this finally tipped the trip to my favor. Funny how, once we were into the camping, the complaints about HVAC were gone.
