Using portable military facility solutions for my private compound

Some of the buildings are shipping container homes, but other ones are converted modular offices

Call me crazy if you want, but I bought all of this remote land in the foothills so that I could start my own compound. I wanted a series of outbuildings around my house, where a lot of other people could stay with me and have their own private quarters. I thought of it as a military-type setup, although some folks in town said I wanted to start a cult! This is no cult, just a collective farm where people can hunt, fish, and grow crops in peace with nature. There are a lot of trees around, but I did not want to clear-cut the forest so I turned to modular housing solutions instead. People think that shipping container homes and modular homes are expensive, but the truth is they are a fraction of the price of building a new facility. I left room to build cabins in the future, but for now I wanted to leave the forest intact, so I started off with portable restrooms, portable showers, and a portable kitchen. The portable kitchen was quite amazing to me, because it came fully furnished with all the appliances I needed. I also bought four shipping container homes, for people to use as living and sleeping quarters. Some of the buildings are shipping container homes, but other ones are converted modular offices. When you have several modular offices it’s possible to connect them and make a larger structure. Combined with a modular kitchen and modular restrooms, my little house is small but getting bigger every year… just like my compound.
