We never run the motor car Air Conditioning system, just use the windows for some fresh air.
In winter, we all wanted the fireplace turned on to keep the house warm. In summer, I never bothered with a cooling system. Instead, I had this simple fan in my room that only ran on hotter afternoons. Well, at the moment I’m going through menopause. I don’t know how long it will last and I’m always dealing with hot flashes. My kids realize I don’t sleep as well. I also try to be quite active and change my clothing more often. Another huge change is that now I want the air conditioning running 24/7. I no longer have the same temperature preferences like I did before. When we are in the motorcar to go to the mall, the air conditioning comes on. I can’t get by with the light breeze. When it gets cold outside, I struggle to have the fireplace on. See, when I get a hot flash, I sweat and don’t want the furnace making it worse. I even have a ductless AC set up in my room. I sleep with A/C blasting on at night. I can’t sleep with clothes on and must have the A/C blowing on me or I’ll sweat all night. My kids look at me with pity. When they were here visiting last summer, the house was much colder. They had to wear sweatshirts and long pants all the time.
