Tom feels they sleep with A/C blasting every evening.
Tom’s mom and aunt used to have temperature preferences like he did. They’d never run the car Heating & A/C system, just use the windows for a gentle breeze. In the wintertime they wanted the fireplace turned on at the same time. In the Summer, his mom and aunt never bothered with a cooling system. They each got by simply with a box fan in their home offices on hotter afternoons. Well now Tom’s mom and aunt are going through menopause. It’s lasted much longer than normal and they’re constantly battling sizzling flashes. Tom has noticed his mom and aunt don’t sleep as well, exercises harder and changes their clothing more often. Another big change is that they require air conditioning for the first time. Tom’s mom and aunt no longer like him with temperature. When he hops into the car to go to the mall with them, the air conditioning comes on. They can’t get by with fresh air anymore. During the wintertime these ladies don’t like to turn the fireplace on. When Tom’s mom and aunt get sizzling flashes they sweat and don’t want the gas furnace making it worse. They now own ductless mini splits in their home offices. Tom feels they sleep with A/C blasting every evening. Tom’s mom and aunt say they sleep in their underwear, A/C blowing on them and sweating all evening long. He felt so sorry for them. Tom feels when he visits them in the summertime he needs to be prepared to be a little colder. He always has his hair hot so that he can be comfortable with the colder control unit setting.
