My wife totally freaked out when she saw a bunch of ants coming out of the ductwork system. She told me to do something about the ant issue, but I really didn’t know what to do. I figured it was part of the HVAC system, so I ended up calling the HVAC professionals. When the professional had a look in the ductwork system, he took pictures with his snake camera. There was all kinds of nasty stuff in there, including some rotting food. The kids actually stuffed a bunch of their unfinished snacks in the ductwork system and we knew that was what attracted the ants. Those kids were in some serious trouble, but our first priority was to take care of the dirty ductwork. The HVAC professional was prepared to clean the ductwork system, and that’s exactly what he did after we gave him the go ahead. He showed us what the cost was going to be before doing the job, and we thought it was reasonable. He said he wasn’t worried about ants, but if there was something else in there like rodents, he would have to insist that we hire a pest control service. I was glad that we didn’t have rodents or anything crazy like that, but if those kids keep stuffing food in the ductwork, you never know what could make its way in there. I swear they are all going to be grounded for a month, that should teach them.
