Jump rope workouts

Jumping rope has always been something I enjoyed.

  • When I was a little kid, I had a basic rope with plastic handles.

I taught myself a variety of tricks with it. As an adult, I incorporate the jump rope into my daily fitness routine. For several years, I used a leather rope that featured weighted handles. I was satisfied with this type of rope but it would often get tangled, become frayed and eventually tear in half. I heard good things about the Crossrope method that features a single set of handles that connect to various weights of ropes. The ropes are fabricated out of some kind of plastic-like material that won’t kink, knot or fray. The ropes link to the handles by way of a metal clasp. This system rotates smoothly. It makes switching from one rope to the other quick and easy. The various weights of ropes switches up the intensity and style of the workout. Since purchasing this new jump rope system, I’ve elevated the pace and length of my jumping. I’ve included new skills and jump more frequently. I also downloaded a free app onto my phone. The app is user-friendly and offers guided jump rope workouts. I can pick from beginner or advanced sessions. The sessions tend to last anywhere from twenty to forty minutes. The training is divided into high intensity exercise and periods of rest. They incorporate different styles of jumping and use all the weights of ropes. The workouts sometimes add in other exercises. I’ll jump rope for thirty seconds in-between periods of mountain climbers, burpees, pushups and squats. I like having a timer counting down the duration of each exercise. It’s also beneficial that the app keeps track of calories burned and a record of my workouts.
