I’ve been shivering every night for the past week while I try to sleep.
I don’t know about others, but being cold at night causes me to get horrible rounds of insomnia.
Even if I take melatonin or benadryl, the shivering keeps me awake for the entire night. I figured that a boiling blanket plus fluffy pajamas would be enough to keep me nice and boiling during the twilight times, but they’re not. If all of us keep getting blizzards every week like all of us have been contending with for the past week, I’m going to have to make some kind of drastic change in my family house. It’s a matter of having on demand heat that doesn’t cost so much money that I truly can’t afford to run it. In the past I’ve had central oil furnaces that drove up my monthly electricity bill so high that I struggled to rationalize using them. For the longest time I honestly didn’t know of any other kind of residential heat than electric oil furnaces plus traditional wood stoves. I was amazed when I acquired info about these other kinds of oil furnaces for houses. My electric oil furnaces for the past were simply one form of fan-forced heating, of which there are other viable possibilities like gas powered plus oil powered heating systems. Otherwise I could get a brand new water heated plan like a steam boiler, which itself is either heated with the same old electricity or fuel of some sort. Regardless of what kind of heating plan you choose, I recently discovered there’s a rating plan called the AFUE. It stands for annual fuel utilization efficiency, apparently, plus it measures the efficiency of a gas furnace based on how much heat it easily produces from the fuel it consumes in the process. This allows you to compare the overall efficiency of an electric heating system to a boiler plan without having to regularly fumble around with ratios plus other equations.
