ADA Compliant Upgrades Provide Value

I live in a southern state, and we have a lot of tourists and a lot of old people.

We are a common destination for vacationers seeking sun and surf, and we are a popular destination for older folks tired of dealing with the snow.

Because I own a house where there are millions of retirees, I decided to make some ADA compliant upgrades to the house. I figure that when I go to re-sell the house, the ADA compliant upgrades will provide value. As people age, it becomes more likely that they will need some kind of ADA compliant upgrades, so why not put them in while I can? I reached out to a general contractor to see if he had any advice for me, and he said that some making some ADA compliant upgrades make sense, and some do not. His first recommendation was to make ADA compliant upgrades to at least one bathroom. I agreed that made perfect sense, so I started to ask a million questions. That is when my general contractor friend let me know that I really should be talking to building and remodeling contractors rather than a general contractor. Again, it was a duh moment. So, I went to that online directory and looked for building remodeling contractors with four or more stars. There were lots of them, so that was good. I talked to several and chose to contract with the one I liked the best. He began to offer a list of ADA compliant upgrades, and I started to check mark each one I wanted. With his help, I made the ADA compliant upgrades that were most likely to add value to my house.
