She had a criminal record and that was causing a lot of issues. My boss offered to deliver the woman a job if I thought she would workout. My boss wanted someone to work around the shop while Heating and Air Conditioning professionals were out on repair calls. The lady would be responsible for cleaning up the shop, answering telephone calls, and washing and maintaining the Heating and Air Conditioning work truck. I knew Gus would be perfect for the job because she had mechanic experience. I talked to my best buddy about the occasion and Gus agreed to take the job and work hard. Everything was going entirely well for the first couple of months; Gus showed up to work on time every single morning and she was regularly willing to work late. She was interested in learning more about heating and a/c repair and I thought she was going to start taking classes at the technical school. My boss even offered to help Goss apply for classes by providing a recommendation. Gus was already learning about the trade and the classes would have made the certification process much easier, but unluckyly, my best buddy fell off the wagon and got wasted on Superbowl Tuesday with some outdated pals from the village. She never showed up to work on Monday or Tuesday and I had to bail him out of jail.
