I remember the look on our dad’s face last year when I told him it was time I moved out.
My friend and I had gotten too used to being together after I moved back home during the pandemic.
At first, I thought it would be hard living with our parents again after so many years. But, knowing my friend and I were all safe and healthy was more substantial! So, my friend and I made it work. I kept working from home, and recently went back to the office. Since I wasn’t paying rent, I was saving up, and had enough money for a downpayment for a modern house; When I broke the news to dad that I was looking for a home to buy, he almost broke down in tears. But, he also knew it was time for me to opportunity up our life, and perhaps have a family of our own. Since he’s bought several homes before, he was the perfect person to bring house hunting with me. His insight proved helpful. I finally found a nice house. After moving in, I had some concerns with the air conditioner. Dad came to my rescue. The house was a nice bargain, but it still had the old air conditioning. When I moved in, it worked a bit, then my friend and I began feeling hot air coming from the vents. So, I called dad and explained what was happening, however dad told me the air conditioner was failing. I needed to start saving up and make sure I had a new one by the following summer. Thankfully, that was in late November, and soon it was cool enough to stay without any air conditioner. I plan on having the air conditioner installed when dad comes in the spring.
