In fact, I’m a single was those grouchy seasoned dudes who don’t “get” technology appreciate other people do.
I still have the same flip cellphone I’ve had for years, which doesn’t have internet and only limited texting. I don’t care enough to upgrade, not because of the cost, because I don’t want that complicated a device. I only use it to order pizza anyway, or to call our pals. A lot of places are doing company online because of the quarantine, and this is a massive concern for me. When I needed an A/C service job, I didn’t even suppose about going online, I went for a cellphone book to call someone local. It turns out our cellphone book was out of date, so I called our friend and asked him to request a fine A/C company for me. What did he do? Of course he went right to the internet and Google searched for local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C companies. While I was on the cellphone he clicked through to several weird Heating, Ventilation, and A/C websites, and gave myself and others some cellphone numbers for a singles that hadn’t closed up for lockdown. I made a few calls, only talked to a single live person, and she wasn’t even an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech she was just answering the cellphones. I had to wait an hour just for an A/C expert to call myself and others back, so the people I was with and I could discuss the problem. I booked an appointment to have them look at our central Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system, but even that had a two week wait time!
