I can’t stop thinking about what was going on almost exactly one year ago. My life has completely changed from the circumstances around that time. It feels like I have gone through many personal revolutions since the end of last year. It’s hard to imagine that everything was so different not so long ago, for instance, one year ago I was dating a total loser who I knew through my work. My buddy and I were head over heels, somehow, then right around this time my friend and I decided to rent a household together out in the mountains. It seems like it would be a fun, relaxing, passionate thing to do. Instead, it was a nice freezing experience in trying to survive. When my friend and I arrived at the household my friend and I were surprised to find that there was no central heating whatsoever. The rustic rental was equipped with an outdated university stove for heat. You had to continually feed the fire in order to provide any heat for the entire stadium. It was not a actually small cabin, so this method of heating and cooling was rather ineffective. Every day when my friend and I woke up it was brutally freezing and it took many hours to increase the air temperature appropriately. If my friend and I didn’t keep an eye on the fire at all times it was likely to die down and leave us frozen again. Throughout all of this, the pipes froze in the house. My buddy and I had no running water on top of our lack of new Heat. Then, my friend and I lost our internet repair almost instantly. With no cell service, no internet, no water, and no heat… The entire excursion turned into a trial in survival, rather than relaxation. Thank god my life has changed.
