One of my best friends since childhood just redid her whole home. She didn’t redo her condo because it was outdated and she wanted to renovate it, she was practically forced to do her whole condo again. There was a flood that sent over eight feet of water into her home. The rivers rose and poured over the water table and went through the valley. It was devastating seeing my neighbor lose everything on her first floor. She had family pictures that she had to get rid of, furniture, and other extravagants. It’s been about two years since the flood happened and they are almost finished with the home. They had to completely gut out the walls to get rid of the mildew. They had to buy all current heating and cooling vents, ductwork and a current HVAC system. Some of this is certainly high-priced and their condo insurance didn’t cover most of it. Therefore my friends and I raised some money for her through the sites that my nice friend and I labor at so she could purchase current HVAC equipment. I acquired a call from her the other afternoon explaining to me that they also had to tear up their floor as well because they forgot that they had radiant floor heating. This was going to cost them a few more thousand dollars as well. That week I presented her the amount of money that my nice friend and I collected and she was thankful and made sure that the money would go to all of the heating and cooling equipment that was needed.
