I hoped the rain would not destroy my A/C unit.

Instead of telling him he was a sarcastic old fool, he said I should be praising him

I have know for years, that the a/c unit sits outside, but even the worst of thunderstorms, or hurricanes hadn’t move my a/c unit or stopped it from running, unless the power was off. I would have the Heating & Air Conditioning company clean the a/c, & it would be fine. Granted, since we live where we do, we also know we need a heavier a/c unit, & we get a up-to-date one every fifteen years. I spent more on a up-to-date a/c unit this Spring, than I ever had before, & I am being overly cautious with it. I worried the rain would destroy my A/C unit, & my spouse laughed. He reminded me of the tornado that ripped our roof off, but the a/c unit was still there & humming away when our power came back on. I knew that, but that was the old a/c unit, & not the up-to-date one. I worried about my up-to-date a/c unit. When it began to rain the next afternoon, my spouse took an umbrella out & put it over the A/C unit. I knew he was futzing with the roof, although I didn’t know he put an eye screw in it to hold the water that would have landed on the a/c. Instead of telling him he was a sarcastic old fool, he said I should be praising him. No water would get on my up-to-date a/c unit. About that time, the umbrella was filled with water & it broke off the screw. The water splashed all over the a/c unit, & some of it went in the pool.
