Before I made the decision to get a smart thermostat, I watched a lot of videos on the internet explaining how to install them and how to use them because if there was one thing that I know about smart thermostats it said they are a DIY type of installation that you can do yourself. I mean sure if you wanted to hire a heating and AC guy to come and do it for you you always had that option, if it wasn’t something that you wanted to do with yourself however this was not the case with me and I figured it would be very easy to do. After all the videos I watched online made it appear very easy, however once I actually went to the heating and AC business and purchased my smart thermostat I found that it wasn’t quite as easy as I thought it was. I had taken this smart thermostat out of the box and I started reading the directions on how to install it. The first thing I would have to do is remove my old one so that I could install the new one. In the videos I made this look very easy and straightforward, however I was struggling with it. I couldn’t even figure out how to correctly uninstall my old thermostat and install a new thermostat. It took several hours of reading lots of directions and watching some videos before I figured it out and then even then I messed up several times before I actually was able to get successfully installed. I guess overall though I did get it so I would call it a success.
