Now that I’m getting up in years I’m really feeling more and more comfortable with older technology.
- Some people when they get old become uncomfortable and try hard to look young for as long as possible, I understand that and I don’t judge people that do that, on the other hand there are people that while they might prefer to be young don’t really mind aging and take it gracefully.
I’d like to think that I’m in the latter category, I’m not exactly happy with getting older and I started having thoughts of what I’m going to do when my time does come, however at the same time I’m comfortable with it and in a way I think there’s a beauty that comes with living that long, in my opinion I think it means I’ve lived a full life. There’s so many things that have changed from when I was younger, for one is the heating and AC technology. All the grandkids now have these things called smart thermostats that they keep telling me about. They’ve been wanting me to get one but I have zero interest in getting a smart thermostat. I just don’t see the point in it. Why would I need a smart thermostat to be smart? It’s a thermostat. All I need it to do is control the temperature and that’s enough for me. The more I have my older items around me the more comfortable I feel, and that’s the way I’d like to keep it. I know that my grandchildren mean well and they just want me to keep up with the times, but they don’t understand that by having my older things around me I’m happiest. Those are the times I choose to remember the most, and they are the ones that bring me comfort.
