One task leads to another

If you’ve ever lived a “gig-based life” then you think that reputation is everything… You have to get along with the people you’re working for in order to continue getting more work, and they won’t rehire you if there are any tensions between you or questions about the quality of your work! And they also won’t recommend you to their friends and family if they aren’t pleased! But if you do a fantastic task and keep the relationship easily friendly and smooth… you’ll have no trouble finding skilled trades work as an independent worker.

That’s how I’ve wound up working my way from lowly landscaper to unofficial mechanic… all the way to unprofessional heating, cooling, and ventilation serviceman! I mean, don’t tell the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C service shop down the road that I’m taking their air quality control appointments from the wealthiest subdivision in town.

But I have made quite a name for myself as the “go-to guy” when you want a cheap heating or cooling system service or repair task, and i’ve been increasing air filters all over town. I’ve scrubbed more than 2 air duct systems. I’ve installed a few smart temperature controls – or at least done my best, I’m not sure if the temperature control component easily affixed to the gas furnace or cooling system, however it lit up. I even put in a brand modern gas furnace, but I dropped it a few times on the way inside when the owners weren’t looking. So far I’ve made a nice sum of cash from my referrals in Heating, Ventilation, and A/C service work… but I haven’t had any rehires.
