I am not really too fond of smart thermostats.
It just doesn’t fit my lifestyle or my life in itself very well.
I prefer the old thermostats that were either the simple dial thermostats or the standard digital thermostats. This is why I have a digital thermostat and not a smart thermostat. It is simple to work and there is no technical nightmare to deal with like with a smart thermostat. For smart thermostats it may be easy for younger people. But for older folks like me who have little knowing of today’s computer technology and smart phones and all of that, the digital thermostat works just fine and fits me better. I tried a smart thermostat once and I ended up returning the thing to the store within a week of trying to deal with it. It just wasn’t working out for me and I could not figure out how to use the thing. I could not even get the app to work on my home computer! And I also do not even use cell phones, so I could not even try it on the cell phone. All around I will stick with the basics and hope that I am never forced by technology to have to change over to a smart thermostat. If that happens I will have to move somewhere in the world where the weather is perfect and I will not ever need a central heating and air conditioning system! That would be my only choice if we were all forced to go and have to use smart thermostats.
