It is commanded to have the gas oil furnace professionally checked twice a year. What happens if you decide not to do all these things? Chaos & safety concerns. If you don’t do something as small as change the air filter, more dust than regular gets into the oil furnace. Then the dust causes the oil furnace to labor itself harder & overheat. When the oil furnace overheats it could absolutely catch on fire. Another thing it could do is split the heat exchanger. A microscopic crack & this section is shot. The cost of the heating system repair is almost as much as a new oil furnace too. The crack also allows carbon monoxide to pour into the home. This smellless, white & tasteless gas is poisonous & dangerous for the tenants to breathe in for an extended stage of time.
