A couple of weeks ago, I picked up my very first commercial client. I have had my own heating and air conditioner repair business for the past two years. A couple of months ago, I decided to branch out and start looking for commercial clients. It was very slow in the beginning, but eventually I picked up my very first client. I probably got the job because the commercial client is the same fitness center where I pay a membership fee and work out everyday. I was talking with the manager one day and I mentioned that I am the owner of a heating and air conditioner repair business. At that time, the fitness center was looking for a new heating and air conditioning service provider. Everything happened at the right time for me to pick up the client. A few days after I picked up the job, the manager of the fitness center called to request service. She was having trouble with the airflow in the exercise room. It seemed like a ductwork issue, so I sent one of my technicians instead of going to the job myself. When my repair technician saw the mess in the ductwork, he called me and sent pictures. All of the ductwork above the exercise rooms needed to be replaced. It was a very large job that was going to be expensive and time-consuming. I needed to talk to the manager about the ductwork repair and set up a time to close that part of the fitness center. When the manager informed the owner of the store, he decided to get a second opinion.
