The new office manager was hired by the corporate office

The last manager of this office was here for 25 years.

Janey was very kind and sweet.

She was an accountant for several years and then she became the office manager after she stopped accounting. She knew what it was like to work in the office and she always found a way to lighten our day with fun games, parties, and office events. She retired from her position a couple of weeks ago. The office manager position was vacant until last Friday when a new person took the job. The new office manager was hired by the corporate office. She isn’t very friendly and she clearly doesn’t care about our health or happiness. Monday morning, I came to work and I could feel a difference in the indoor air temperatures. It felt much warmer than usual, so I went to the office manager, knocked on the door, and requested that she adjust the thermostat. The thermostat is on the wall inside of her office. It’s not in that place for any other reason other than poor planning by the building contractor. She said the indoor temperatures were perfectly fine and then she shut the door. I knocked again and I asked her to kindly adjust the AC by one degree. That’s when I found out that she was responsible for the warm indoor air temperatures. She said it is her job to save the office money and 75 degrees is a reasonable temperature for an office. I walked away without one word, but I knew that wasn’t going to be the end of the discussion.
