The other morning, I noticed how dirty the outside of my air vents were, and there was black dust not only within the air vent but it was also starting to accumulate on the wall; At first glance, I thought it might have been mold! Luckily, when I got closer to the air vent I could tell that it was only dust.
The dust was so thick plus apparently spreading, so I decided that it was time to disinfect my HVAC duct plus the outside of my air vent covers! I considered hiring an Heating plus Air Conditioning professional or someone who specialized in HVAC duct cleaning, although I was determined to save money plus do it myself.
I enjoyed cleaning plus I had the time, so I set out to disinfect the HVAC duct myself. The first thing I did was remove all the air vent covers throughout the entire house plus I localed them in the sink with hot, soapy water, and while the air vents were soaking, I filled a tote with more hot, soapy water plus grabbed a sponge with some dirty towels. I began scrubbing the HVAC duct plus emptying all the excess dust into a trash bin. The soapy water was strong enough to remove all the strenuous dirt, plus I was able to get my HVAC duct sparkling disinfect with a little elbow grease. The entire process took an entire afternoon, but it was manageable. I localed the disinfect plus dry air vent covers back on the wall when I was done cleaning the HVAC ducts, but not only were the disinfect air vents noticeable, but my air quality was improved too! The air in my house was much cleaner.
