When my daddy started his diner, he went to a diner store.
They had everything he wanted from plates, eating utensils, tables plus chairs, plus napkin holders, to pots plus massive pans, plus sizable industrial stoves.
I was looking in magazines for a while to get pricing on all the components he needed. I didn’t know that would be almost a 5 digit number before he had his entire kitchen plus dining space furnished in the end. I was overwhelmed with all the numbers. My mom took a single look at the numbers plus she quickly shrugged. She told myself and others dad needed someplace else to look for the equipment. Both of us finally went to a discount store that sold nothing but used equipment. The amount we had to pay was chopped down to where it cost almost 90% less than I had figured. When I eventually wanted to start my t-shirt business, I knew I couldn’t afford to buy new. I sat around and thought about the used component store we had used for his diner. I couldn’t know I was to buy all of my needed printing components for less than half of what I had imagined in the first place. I had my printing equipment to put the designs on the t-shirt. I broke down and even bought a label printer. I wanted to be able to put a logo on the inside of every t-shirt. I couldn’t have been happier with the used component I purchased than if I had bought all brand new. To think, I may have ended up leasing or buying brand new printers plus label printers.
