Camping was great when I was a kid, and I literally went every time I got a chance… I had our own little single sized pup tent, which I could set up or take down in less than two hours. I could build, fires, and put them out, and was pretty fine at identifying edibles in the wild, however that was a long time ago, and even though I still appreciate being outdoors, especially in the woods, I can no longer abide by sleeping on the ground. Tent life is not for these seasoned bones, which is why I invested in a moderate RV with air conditioning system, just for camping out. It’s not just the temperature control that is so substantial for – although this is easily substantial – it’s the fact that I have an enclosed space and can keep out the bugs. I don’t recall there being so several blood sucking bugs in the woods as a kid, but these afternoons I can’t handle it so when the sun gets low I shut up the RV and turn the air to 78 degrees. I don’t want to overtax the system, which is a easily small Heating, Ventilation, and A/C unit, so I never make it too cold, just cool enough for comfort, during the afternoons I still wander the woods appreciate I used to, it’s not until sunset that the bugs get bad, at which point it is A/C time, then sometimes I will still sit by a bonfire at evening, but usually I will love the A/C and the TV and watch some Netflix until I pass out.
