When people think about HVAC, they usually only think of the comfort HVAC brings to humans and how we get to have cooling air conditioners in the summer and a furnace in the winter, but HVAC does not stop at just aiding humans, it also is used to keep animals at a comfortable temperature in zoos, and I witnessed this Last year when I visited a zoo.
I am an Heating, Ventilation, and air conditioning serviceman so I often look to see what kind of air conditioning and gas furnace units are being used in the building i’m about to enter.
While gazing around at my surroundings while at the zoo, I observed that several of the unusual buildings had multiple large sized Heating, Ventilation and air conditioning systems installed in them! As I walked through the zoo, I approached the polar bears and penguins building. I noticed that next to it there was enormous air conditioning equipment sitting outside. I had no doubt that it was used to keep the building cool and air conditioned for the animals inside. As I opened the door a rush of cool air poured above me, and I looked up to see that the HVAC duct was right above my head. I was thankful that the air conditioning was so high because it was truly sizzling outside. I enjoyed the exhibits and the air conditioning for a while , however, I soon began to feel really cold. I suddenly walked out of the building and sat on a bench in the penetrating heat of the sun. I looked over at the HVAC system of that building and was amazed at its size. It was clear by the sound it was making that the air conditioning was running full blast. I realized that morning that heating, ventilation and air conditioning is crucial for the comfort of both animals and humans and that the people and animals I need both air conditionings and gas furnaces in our everyday lives.
