Brad has got his workweek down to about 20 hours and that is in the sweet spot for him.
He learned long ago that a 20 hour workweek is possible and is also perfect for someone like him who loves to practice music most days.
Brad knows some of his friends work 70 hours a week and have no time to do anything, but that kind of life doesn’t suit him as he needs a lot of down time for himself. Brad has no adolescents, no car, and household so that is one reason he can work so little. Heating system repairs is what he does each week for the local HVAC business and then he spends the rest of his time riding his bike, playing his drum and singing. Brad also likes just hanging out with friends on the beach. He is 58 years old now and he feels that this path he has carved is going to be the same for the rest of his functional years. He knows when he is 75 years old he won’t be an Heating, Ventilation and A/C specialist anymore and really won’t be able to do much but scrub his furnace filter and sit around the lake house. Maybe Brad can still play the drums though and maybe he can do gigs in the clubs around the neighborhood once in a while to provide him a jolt of energy. He doesn’t want to be just resting in his lake house all day staring at his air cleaner system, or listening to the sound of his Heating, Ventilation and A/C system running as he reads the newspaper.
