I remember the look on our dad’s face last year when I told him it was time I moved out.
- My good friend and I had gotten too used to being together after I moved back home while my friend and I were in the pandemic, at first, I thought it would be strenuous living with our parents again after so many years; But, knowing we were all safe and healthy was more pressing, so, we made it work.
I kept working from home. Recently I returned to the office. Since I wasn’t paying rent, I was saving up, and had enough money for a downpayment for a modern house, then when I broke the news to dad that I was looking for a home to buy, he almost broke down in tears. But, he also knew it was time for me to opportunity up our life, and perhaps have a family of our own. He came home hunting with me since he’s bought a handful of homes before. His insight proved helpful. I finally found the most lovely house to buy. After moving in, I was having some problems with the air conditioner. My dad came to the rescue. The home had been a good bargain, but it still had the old air conditioner. When I moved in, it worked a bit. Then, I began feeling warm air coming from the vents. So, I called dad and explained what was happening. Dad told me the air conditioner was failing. I needed to start saving up to get this handled by summer. Thankfully, that was in late October, and soon it was cool enough to stay without any air conditioner. I plan on having the air conditioner installed when dad is here in the spring.
