I don’t know about you, but I am not looking forward to summer.

We began discussing a whole-home air purification system, but it was a bit too expensive.

I am a snow bunny. I love the winter and all the sports that go with it. When the Super Bowl is over, I am already looking forward to the beginning of a new football season. The colder the better is my motto as I watch the snow fall and get my skis ready for the slopes. I also hate the summer because of the need for air conditioning. Once the air conditioning unit is on, my allergies affect me. This year, I said something to the HVAC technician when he arrived to do the service on the air conditioning unit. He asked me when I last had my ductwork cleaned. He explained that we should clean the ductwork every couple of years. Dust and debris get into the ductwork and if not cleaned out, it can get into the air conditioning unit or furnace, and destroy the components that keep the HVAC running. The dust gets into the breathing air, and it can seriously affect people who have allergies or asthma. I called the HVAC company and set up the appointment to have the ductwork cleaned, even while the HVAC technician was still there. We began discussing a whole-home air purification system, but it was a bit too expensive. The HVAC technician looked at both the AC unit and the furnace to see if it was possible to use HEPA air filters to help trap the excess dust, dirt, and allergens. When he was done, I felt a little better about summer coming, but I still preferred winter. I always felt that it was easier to put more clothes on and get warm than to take more clothes off to cool off. Eventually you run out of clothes to take off.
