I think just the fact that we were dealing with such a different sort of winter was partly to blame for my delayed response to the HVAC deal. Plus, that whole period was sort of a blur to me and I imagine the rest of the family. My wife’s company offered her a position that she had been working toward for more than a decade. But that position was not in the local office with the perfect zone controlled HVAC. If she wanted to move into that coveted position with the company, it would include relocation. And the relocation would take a clan of southerners to the far north. There was no way I was about to hold my wife back due to winter and lots of HVAC heating. But, I can’t say that I was excited about the prospect of dealing with a gas furnace sort of winter. The kids were on board as they are young and loved the idea of a winter filled with snow. The whole thing was like a whirlwind. We had to upgrade the HVAC in our old house to get it on the market, my wife had to leave for the new job and we had to pack and move. Oh yea, we also had to find a new house. Thankfully, I’m self employed and was able to arrange my schedule to make it all work. The new house is awesome but there was a section of the house that was just cold. I figured it was just us getting accustomed to this sort of winter. Turns out that a section of ductwork was not properly connected but it took me months before I called the HVAC company for help.
